The Director of Strategic Sales is responsible for creating and executing MapR’s go-to-market strategy in the OEM and embedded space. The candidate will develop and execute a go-to-market strategy resulting in MapR revenues through OEM and embedded licensing.
The successful candidate will have a history and track record of identifying, penetrating, and negotiating large-scale OEM and/or embedded transactions for software or technology companies. He or she will have a network of contacts within the industry and knowledge/experience of how to structure large complex OEM agreements.
The successful candidate will interface with both the field sales and channels/alliances organizations to enact strategies/policies and drive revenue globally.
Key Objectives:
- Analyze MapR technology and market position and create a global go to market strategy for OEM and embedded sales
- Identify key OEM or embedded target companies and drive penetration through negotiation
- Drive new, innovative pricing strategies to drive revenue growth
- Execute jointly with Alliances/Channels and direct field sales organization
 
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years experience in software and technology with specific experience in OEM sales/management
- Strong relationships with key executives at target companies or ecosystem
- Documented track record of success growing revenues through OEM/Channel sales
- Experience with value selling/complex sales methodology
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to think and plan strategically
- Global experience a plus
- Location is flexible
