This role is responsible for running our open web community. Additional responsibilities include managing some Social Media channels promoting the Community and other aspects of MapR’s digital out-reach.
Digital Marketing Community Manager
The digital marketing team at MapR is looking for a dynamic and pro-active individual who can drive our open user Community. This individual will be tasked with managing MapR’s Community and other similar user groups in the Big Data space. You will leverage MapR Data Scientists, Engineers, and other Technologist to speak, teach, and evangelize different Big Data technologies across the world. This individual will report directly to the VP of Digital Engagement.

* Coordinate MapR data scientists, engineers, and other technologists to speak and sponsor at Meetups and big data user groups in North America, APAC, and EMEA
* Work with colleagues to advertise, socialize, and drive attendance to events
* Manage and update Community content
* Be a liaison to the open-source community within the Big Data space
* Create marketing campaigns for developer tools and platform adoption
* Measure the size and health of our community and continuously benchmark development engagement and satisfaction
* Drive the on-going evolution of MapR User Groups
* Collaborate with developer relations and product management on developer content strategy
* Build and lead the developer community outreach plan, including online community, social channels, meetups, and industry co-marketing opportunities.
* Partner with the Engineering team to develop videos and tutorials for the community
* Create world-class developer events that provide developer resources and direct access to use cases and experts
* Create and manage reporting dashboards and Community health metrics
* Create and manage Social Media posts referencing the Community.
* Take the Social Media pulse of the Community
Skills and Background:
* Excellent teamwork and written/verbal communication skills
* Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with dynamic objectives
* Ability to think creatively
* Strong organizational skills
* Salesforce Communities user, administrator
* SQL and NO/SQL Database Management familiarity
* OLAP, Analytics and Metrics experience.
* Understanding of Hadoop technology
* Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of the organization and with outside groups
* Proven ability to multi-task, work under tight deadlines and get the most from resources
* BA/BS from a top university; a technical degree is a plus
